The Queensland Pharmacy Business Ownership Council (Council) has adopted the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service for Council members, the Chief Executive Officer and Council staff.
For Council members an additional Member Code of Conduct applies.
Council Member Code of Conduct
- The member should act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the Council as a whole.
- The member has a duty to use care and diligence in fulfilling their functions as a member and exercising the statutory powers attached to that office.
- The member should use the statutory powers of the office of member of the Council for proper purposes, in the best interests of the Council as a whole and the public interest.
- The member should not make improper use of information acquired as a member.
- The member should not take improper advantage of the position of member.
- The member should properly manage any conflict they have in their private capacity with the interests of the Council and should comply with their conflict of interest management plan and any advice of the Integrity Commissioner.
- The member has an obligation to be independent in judgment and actions and to take all reasonable steps to be satisfied as to the soundness of all decisions taken by the Council.
- The member should not disclose confidential information received by the member in the course of the exercise of their official duties remains and must at all times comply with the obligations in Part 12 of the Pharmacy Business Ownership Act 2024.
- The member should not engage in conduct likely to bring discredit upon the Council.
- The member has an obligation, at all times, to comply with the spirit, as well as the letter of the law (including the Pharmacy Business Ownership Act 2024) and with the principles of this Code.
- The Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service also applies to the member to the extent that it is relevant to their role as a member.
